PROGRAM OVERVIEW

Our program is designed for your success.

Future Pathways has proven to help adults with autism and intellectual disabilities achieve real outcomes.

In fact, 83% of Future Pathways graduates achieve their goals, whether that's finding a job, returning to school, or beginning a paid internship.​

You'll develop new skills in a small cohort of your peers. The setting simulates a real workplace, while allowing for individualized coaching and guidance.

THE CURRICULUM

Each week in Future Pathways leads to greater career readiness.

The Future Pathways program runs for 10-13 weeks. During that time, you’ll join live online sessions every weekday and work on lessons, activities, and projects that will help you prepare for your career.

WEEKS 1-5

21st Century Work Skills

Discover how to navigate modern workplace technologies and expectations. During this time, you will work on:​

  • Exploring online communication and productivity tools, including Google Docs and Sheets
  • ​Adjusting to remote work and remote work platforms
  • ​Understanding cybersecurity and digital safety
  • Practicing online collaboration

WEEK 6

Understanding Workplace Accommodations

You'll receive guidance on your rights at work, and how to advocate for yourself. During this time, you will work on:​

  • Requesting accommodations
  • Disclosing a disability to your manager
  • Practicing workplace communication skills
  • Managing stress at work

WEEK 7

Career Planning

With your coach, you'll build a career plan that reflects your strengths, values, goals, and needs. During this time, you will work on:​

  • Exploring potential careers
  • Setting goals that are informed by your values
  • Developing your work ethic
  • Understanding and practicing professionalism

WEEK 8

Resumes and Job Applications

During this time, you'll explore the process of applying for jobs with the help of our team of experts.​ You will work on:

  • Writing resumes and cover letters
  • Preparing to interview and attending mock interviews
  • Mastering job search techniques
  • Networking

WEEKS 9-13

Resource Exploration and Job Readiness

During this time, you'll connect with key employment resources and complete a final project to cement your new skills. You'll work on:​

  • Navigating California's support systems for people with disabilities (IRC, NLACRC, Department of Rehabilitation, and others)
  • Exploring Customer Relationship Management (CRM) tools
  • Onboarding and succeeding in a job

ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS

Is Future Pathways right for you?

You can apply to Future Pathways if you are:

  • 18 years of age or older
  • An Inland Regional Center or North Los Angeles County Regional Center client
  • A high school graduate (or you earned a certificate of completion)
  • Aiming to develop skills relevant to your chosen career, including communication, teamwork, and computer skills.
  • Eager to find full-time or part-time employment
  • Committed to attending virtual sessions daily (Monday - Friday, 1-3 pm or 3-5 pm PT)
  • Open to receiving feedback

130 hours across approximately 13 weeks

Cost:
$15,000. This cost is fully covered by your Regional Center if you are eligible.

Follow up with your case worker.

Make sure they know to submit the paperwork to get you started.

Am I eligible for Future Pathways?

You may qualify for Future Pathways if you are an Inland Regional Center or a North Los Angeles County Regional Center client, 18 years or older, and a high school graduate (or you earned a certificate of completion).

Can people who aren't Inland Regional Center or North Los Angeles County Regional Center clients apply to Future Pathways?

Future Pathways is only available to Inland Regional Center and North Los Angeles County Regional Center clients at this time.

​If you are not an IRC or NLACRC client, we would still love to work with you. Our REACH coaching program is available in all 50 states and may be a great fit.

Is Future Pathways available in my state?

At this time, Future Pathways is only available in California through the Inland Regional Center and the North Los Angeles County Regional Center.

​If you live outside of California, you may be eligible for one of our other programs, such as REACH coaching (all 50 states) or Prepare for Work! (Arizona, Michigan, New York, and Wyoming).

What is your success rate?

83% of our participants get a job, return to school, or start a paid internship.

Can Future Pathways guarantee me a job?

No, we do not guarantee employment or job placement as an outcome of our training programs.

What we can guarantee is that we help you build the skills, confidence, and real-world readiness to become a stronger candidate. Our role is to prepare you, support you, and give you the tools you need to succeed.
